Los Paises y Las Mascotas

Bienvenidos a la semana dos.

The link here takes you to a map of Latin American countries.  As you move your mouse over the map, you can 'click' on a country to hear the name of the country, see their flag and capital city.
Does everyone in Latin America speak Spanish?

In  this link we learn the countries and capital cities of South America. See if you can keep up!
Ok, now for Central America .
Now that you are an expert - this link has both South America and Central America.

Sing along with this song to practise your Spanish greetings.
Or try this rap for more saludos (greetings).

Year 8 Students:
We are learning vocabulary for animals and  mascotas (pets) .
This video clip  uses music in an interesting way.
The video here continues with more household mascotas (pets)

Here is a link to some Spanish games to help you learn and practice vocabulary for mascotas (pets). You can do the tutorial first, or if you are feeling confident, you can move straight to the games. There are several different games to choose from.

Some of you may know  this story, Oso Café Oso Café . How many different animals and colours mentioned in the story can you recognise?

El alfabeto español (Spanish alphabet) sounds a little different to the alphabet in English.
Sing along with this salsa version.
And another version here

Dime ¿Cómo es tu familia?  is a song about family, we learned last year. See how much you can remember.

And this song ¿Puedo ir al Baño? was a great hit with The Gardens students last year.
